And then comes December
December, day 1
Natale è mille cose, vecchi ricordi e nuove emozioni. Natale è magia.
Feel the magic all around, make magic things, think magic thoughts, be the magic for someone. Have Merry (magic) Days.
And then comes December and each year we are fascinated by the atmosphere of this period, the lights, the smell of cookies that invades the house and the heart, the little thoughts and the unexpected surprise, the smiles, songs and the mascarpone cream made with mum's recipe, candle (tons of candles), the family reunited around the table, the laughs and good food homemade with love, the traditions that will never be out, the decorations, the ones you hang on the Christmas tree when you were a child waiting for Santa. Santa in which we still believe, the reinders and the slide, and if it would snow a bit. Christmas is a thousands things, old memories and new emotions. Christmas is magic.
"No beauty shines brighter than that of a good heart".
We'll post our Christmas recipes in a few days, stay tuned (please).

Tavolette di cioccolato / Chocolate bars
Just a bit of chocolate...
"Chocolate doesn't ask silly questions, chocolate understands".
When the air becomes more pungent, when you wrap yourself in warm wool sweaters, the sunsets arrive early and the sun fall in a deep blue sky, when you prepare the soup for dinner and the Autumn starts to smell of Winter...this is the perfect time to run all thoughts away (just for a while), dive on the sofa and be pampered by these delicious bars, perfect for nights with friends or rainy Sundays, while the Leaves fall down moved by the wind outside and the fireplace warms the atmosphere inside...the chocolate thinks to the rest.
Needed: 120g chocolate (each bar), one or more moulds (we used the silicone moulds LoveChocoBar and CoffeeChocoBar EasyChoc by Silikomart), a therometer for chocolate and a few seasonal details to make the bars really tasty.
For each bar: melt 80g of chocolate in a bainmarie and once reached the temperature of 45°C/113°F for the White and milk chocolate and 50°C/122°C for the dark one add the remaining chopped chocolate (40g) and a pinch of salt (perfect the Maldon crystals salt) and stir until you get a smooth mixture. Pour the chocolate into the mould, decorate and lightly beat on the work surface to eliminate any air bubbles. Let stand at room temperature (for about 2 hours, the White and milk chocolate need more time) until completely hardened, gently remove the mould and serve.
Le nostre scelte / Our choices
Grandma cake: - 71% dark chocolate - caramelized pears with rum - Amaretti crumble -
Decorate the bar with melted milk chocolate and add pears cubes previously caramelized in a pan with sugar, just a bit of water, two drops of lemon and a bit of rum. Finish with Amaretti crumble (Italian almonds cookies) and if you like serve with a shot of rum.
Extra black: - extra dark chocolate - black pepper - vanilla - caramelized hazelnuts - crystals salt -
Add an handful of ground black pepper and the seeds of one vanilla pod into the melted chocolate and decorate with Maldon crystals salt and hazelnuts previously caramelized in a pan with icing sugar. Serve with seasonal fruit, perfect with Qumquats.
Ginger scent and salted almonds: - milk chocolate extra - candied ginger - salted almonds - evo oil -

La ricetta consigliata è ovviamente lo Strudel / The suggested recipe is the Strudel of course...
Postcards with a view
We recently returned from a mini Holiday in South Tyrol, just from the staying at the Resort & Spa Engel we won with the contest by CasaFacile and Exquisa Italia (we thank you again!). It was a long weekend...full of stars and now we share with you our travel diary wich start from Lodi (with Lost on You by Lp listend many times on the radio that was therefor our soundtrack) and arrives in Nova Levante, a country just above Bolzano, clinging to the mountains that open the view over the Dolomites, a beautiful landscape.
Briefest that our method judgment may be "slightly" altered by the fact that:
1.after a few missed, lost or thrown away opportunity we won a competition with one of our recipes (double happy face)
2.we love mountains and the South Tyrol is one of our favorite places, we go there often and with this trip we discovered another little piece refinding all that, every time, we miss when we return home like the atmosphere, the smells, the good food (we even had dinner in a starred restaurant...)
3.and last but not least we were in a 4 stars (superior) resort and us (travelling far and wide with our motorbike finding and trying different locations) we contuine to prefer the hotels with all the comforts (and much more)...we will never forget that time in Norway placed in little houses in the wild Woods with "nice" signs to remember the presence of bears (maybe hungry) but this is another story.
And let's start from here, from this huge resort bathed in Sunshine at our arrival and wrapped in a cozy atmosphere cured in the most little details. We are welcomed with an aperitf (with lemon and elderflower) on the terrace with a view on the Woods (how we love the Woods scent), a clear sky and three days finally for us.
Waiting for us the room furnished with style with old mountain photos on the walls, the faux fur blankets, many little lovely thoughts for the guest and an Amazing view over the mountains.
The relax area with the spa, the swimming pools and a beautiful garden where we spent a pleasant afternoon complices also the sun, still warm, the inviting pool temperature, the views on nature and peace all around.
The dinner at the starred restaurant Johannes Stube, in the kitchen chef Theodor Falser, and us in the room (a beautiful diningroom just for us!) to enjoy a menu from the aperitif (with Ibiscus flowers) to dessert, that, as we told to the chef, we could define an experience...of scents, flavors and great research that emerges taste after taste served with wood details, branches of pine and creative ideas that accompanied the dishes and everything seemed to tell a story, the passage of the ingredients, from their natural state, to the chef's hands down to us.
Menu
The Greeting of the chef
.miso soup with chickpeas
.minidumpling with smoked peppers sauce and chips of potato juice
Starters
.Passerteil trout with mugwort sorrel tea and sweet watermelon rind
.watercress cream with poached egg at 45° and sprouted quinoa

.risotto with wild rocket, lamb filet, roasted peanuts and Verjus di Manincor
Iced Gin Tonic
.Roner Gin Z44, Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water, candied cucumber
.Flanstick of Wagyu beef with marrow and purple carrots
Dessert
.NewYork Cheesecake with marinated cherries and elderberries.
Then Bolzano, view with its Christmas Markets and found still beautiful, a tour is a must from Walther Square (with its Dhome in romanic gothic style) along the streets that goes throw the historical centre with gorgeus buildings decorated with flowers and paintings on the walls that tell about history and traditions. Then shops, many shops selling local products (schuttelbrot, bretzel, speck, strudel...), crafts, fashion and much more (and a new pair of Birkenstock ended up in our "basket" but...we have forgotten to buy a wonderful wooden cutting board!). And for lunch a stop in one of the many restaurants of the city, we were groped by Stars (in Erbe Square where you still find the old stalls of fruit, flowers and goodies) that we recommend if you love the gourmet burgers, here served with the Wagyu meet (a japanese beef bred in South Tyrol) juicy and tasty but also in the veg version. A must mention goes to the interesting selections of fried potatoes (fries are a serious thing to us!) and to the cola, the Black Monaco, crafted and unexpectedly good. We hoped that there was also a Stars close to home when the waiter told us that they were opening one even in Merano and for a while we thought he told Milano. All topped off by the music of the Street performers that went throw this city with its international and engaging atmosphere.
The evening spent in the company of music played on the piano, the candle lights, the fireplace corner, lounges with a view and chairs in which to sink leaving thoughts fly away light (just for a while), the moon spying on us from the Windows, outside the silence, that silence that only in the mountain nights you can find, that you almost seem to hear the noise of the stars, which are so many and beautiful and you'd be with the nose up for hours to watch them shining.
Then you open your eyes, and it's time to move, leaving behing the mountains that fast slip away in the rearview mirror.
It ends here, this diary...with the music on the radio, the weather so and so, the traffic on the motorway and us, together, ready to write about new adventures.
Bye South Tyrol bye, hope to see you soon.
P.S.We could not leave without two (yes, two) strudel and one (but perhaps were better two) jar of berries jam prepared by the hotel...and, little note of the authors (us) if you plan to move to Nova Levante stop at the bakery, we have bought super good bars with seeds and dried fruits...we had to stock, maybe the next time!

Style-Post-It N°9 / Week 26/2
E mentre a Parigi sfilano le nuove collezioni Spring/Summer (2017), noi (a casa) prendiamo ispirazione dalle passerelle dell'appena conclusa Milano Fashion Week...
One of the nice things of this Season is that you can combine light pieces with warmer ones creating "daring" looks without arousing too many curious/perplexed glances (not everyone lives in New York centre). We are talking about the famous "layered" dressing code, highly recommended by mothers and grandmothers (slightly revised and corrected)that...if it's hot you take off, if it's cold you put on, it makes no turn (mothers/grandmothers are Always right).
And while in Paris the new Spring/Summer (2017) collections are going on stage we (at home) take the inspiration from the catwalks of the newly concluded Milan Fashion Week...
...and for the Autumn we go "re-fishing" into the closet the light and romantic dresses (like the one of Philosophy and Giamba) and we match them to pull tricot, super warm and comfortable (Miu Miu 650.00 euro / Maison Scotch 150.00), a pair of sneakers (Saint Laurent 445.00 / Adidas from 49.90) and a bakcpack, still a Season must (Fendi 2.300 / Zara 39.95) to complete the look.
To wear also with: leather jacket with colorful ankle boots plus a mini shoulderbag, the denim jacket to personalize with Patches and embroderies with the velvet sandals (thumb up for velvet on shoes, bags, blazers...), the blazer with the anphibian boots and the knitted wool bonnet...and also with parkas, maxi cardigan or coat without sleeves, with Birkenstock + socks (for those who like), derby shoes or Frenchies. A mix and match of styles to wear with lightness. The colors we like: blueberry blue and Yellow chanterelle.
And speaking about food the "where to go" of this week goes to: the local market, for a ride to stock up all the Fall gift, like mushrooms (undisputed interpreters of the recommended recipe)...to add to the shopping list: Woods berry, again for pastry cake, flowers (Always a good idea!), a bag (here goes the quote "a bag a day takes the bad mood away" - in the photo Topshop shoulder bag) and a good coffee for the slowly breakfast of the weekend.
The suggested recipe : fresh pasta with porcini mushrooms (into the dough) creamed with cheese, with crunchy sage and flowers of aromatic herbs...easy to prepare (with all the tips about it), scented and really good!
La frase della settimana / The quote of the week
"Dream a little, dream a little more"
Happy weekend to all, and don't forget the unbrella (you never know).

Welcome Autumn!
And then comes The Autumn, the Season of warm soups, of wool sweaters and slowly breakfasts, of tea and cookies, of chocolate and pinecones, of mushrooms, of cake smell and of warm sun that lights the colors of the Leaves that slowly falls dawn. Happy Autumn...
And if you like to cook something gorgeus, we suggest you the recipe of the butter cake to prepare with the seasonal fruit, dry fruits, chocolate...a real cuddle!
